This week seemed to be a little bit lighter of a week for NWAC play so I figured I would put it all together. The weather was absolutely amazing here in SW Washington, and I’m guessing much of the NW and there was some great baseball being played.
East Region
Wenatchee Valley vs Yakima Valley – Looking to lay claim to one of the top spots in the East Region Yakima Valley would sweep Wenatchee Valley in a four game set. Donald Saltiban would lead the Yaks offense with 9 hits and drive in 12 runs. The Yaks would also get a strong outing on the mound from Mikito Barkman who would go 6 innings striking out 9 and not allowing a hit.
Columbia Basin vs Blue Mountain – Also looking to make a push for a top spot in the East Columbia Basin would start their weekend with a double header sweep of Blue Mountain. Columbia Basin would score three in the 9th to pull out one of their wins. Alex Rodriguez would collect 4 hits in the double header, driving in 3 runs and scoring 3 runs.
Blue Mountain vs Treasure Valley – In a double header that tallied 56 total runs, Blue Mountain and Treasure Valley would end up splitting the two games. Jake Mulholland (BM) would get 4 hits, walk 3 times, drive in 3 runs and score 3 times. Ethan Jones (TV) would also get 4 hits, one of which was a home run, driving in 4 runs and scoring 3 times.
Spokane vs Columbia Basin – In a double header originally unscheduled Columbia Basin would host Spokane in a matchup of two of the top East Region teams. Columbia Basin would come out on top sweeping the double header. Jonathan Garza would have a great outing on the mound going 7 innings striking out 5 and only allowing 1 earned run.
West Region
Tacoma vs LCC – One of two double headers that I got to cover this weekend, Tacoma would come into Longview looking to defeat the defending NWAC Champions but Lower Columbia would take the day sweeping the double header. Matthew Schwarz would only get 1 hit on the day but would take advantage of opportunities given to him and drive in 5 runs for LCC.

Pierce vs Centralia – Centralia looking to solidify their place as a competitor in the West Region took on Pierce and would come out of the double header with a sweep. Grant Roosma for Centralia would collect 3 hits on the day, driving in 3 runs.
Grays Harbor vs LCC – Grays Harbor, another team looking to make their mark in the West, faced off with Lower Columbia. This would be one of the best double headers I’ve seen in a while, but in the end LCC would come out with a sweep. Eric Luchies (LCC) would get 3 hits on the day, driving in 3 runs and scoring twice.

Centralia vs Tacoma – Centralia would travel up I-5 to take on Tacoma, but Tacoma would defend their home field as they would sweep the double header. Will Mulflur (Tacoma) would have a big day with 5 hits, one home run, driving in 7 runs.
Pierce vs Grays Harbor – On a rare Monday double header in the NWAC Pierce and Grays Harbor would split the day. Colin Hoover (GH) would have a solid start on the mound going 7 innings and only allow 3 runs to get the win.
South Region
Umpqua vs Chemeketa – In this four game series the road team would come out on top each time. Umpqua would start by sweeping the first double header. Carson Angeroth (Umpqua) would have a solid outing on the mound going 5 innings striking out 7 and not allowing a run. Chemeketa would respond with a double header sweep of their own and Drake Borschowa would go 6 innings, striking out 8 and only allowing 2 earned runs.
Lane vs Clackamas – It has been a rough start to the season for Clackamas and with them taking on Lane this weekend things wouldn’t get better. Lane would sweep the four game series. Offense for Lane was solid all weekend long but Henry Proger would overshadow the offense by throwing a 7 inning complete game 1 hitter. He would strike out 11 while not allowing a single walk in his outing.
Linn Benton vs Mt Hood – In a matchup of two of the hottest teams in the South Region both teams would bend but neither would break as they would split the 4 game series. Eric Hill (Linn Benton) would continue his great start to the season going 7 innings and only allowing 1 earned run to get the win and improve his record to 4-0. Saige Keep (Mt Hood) would have a great weekend at the plate collecting 6 hits, driving in 5 runs and scoring 5 times.
North Region
Edmonds vs Bellevue – In a matchup of two outstanding North Region programs it would be Bellevue who would come out on top winning 3 out of 4 games over the weekend. Nick Hovland (Bellevue) would continuously reach base over the weekend as he would reach base safely 12 times via 5 hits and 7 walks over the weekend.
Olympic vs Skagit – With both teams looking to make a statement early in the season, both teams would put out some outstanding efforts and end up with a split of the 4 games series. Jake Sulya (Olympic) would throw 7 innings in relief, not allowing a run to earn a win in a 12 inning game. Jake Erdman (Skagit) would have a great outing of his own in his start going 7 innings and only allowing 2 runs to earn the win.
