Who are some key returning position players and what do you hope to see from them this year?
Spencer Juul , Catcher – Was fantastic behind the dish defensively last year and has had some major improvements offensively. Will be brick wall for our pitchers.
Alex Black, OF – Got injured early last year but the drive and will he has shows up in the field.
Who are your key returning pitchers and why?
Isaiah Mayfield-Prieto – Was in the starting rotation last year and will still be an impact arm this year. Great off speed mix and pounds the zone.
Jackson Scherr – Impressive stuff combined with a fiery passion produces excitement on the mound.
Do you have an incoming impact freshman or transfers that will help the team in 2023?
We are a very young team and will have a ton of Freshman taking serious innings in the field and mound. Below is just a couple highlights but we have a very impressive freshman class. Tyler Schuleyman (inf/RHP) will be a major impact guy sporting a power bat plus a 90arm combined with an 80+ knuckle. Justin Birch (SS) has a ton of tools on the infield and a high level bat. Ethan Gardner (OF/RHP) has run it up to 92 and can run a sub 6.6 60 yard dash. Tools to get jobs done.
What was the focus and what things did you see from the team in the fall?
With being a young team simply baseball maturity was a huge focus. This team has the tools to be a top level team they just have to trust in their ability and baseball instincts.
What are the expectations and goals for the team entering the season?
Playoffs and nothing less. We plan to win and also make some fantastic young men in the process.
