It has been a long and challenging off season for college baseball in the northwest, but this week offers the chance for that offseason to come to an end for a number of programs. Teams in the GNAC (Great Northwest Athletic Conference – NCAA D2), the NWC (Northwest Conference – NCAA D3), and the CCC (Cascade Collegiate Conference – NAIA) have games on the schedule for this week.

Not only do teams have games on the schedule but for a number of teams games have been happening for a couple weeks already.

In the CCC all five teams in the conference have gotten games in. LC State has started off strong in nonconference play going 7-1 so far. Oregon Tech has started off going 6-4 with all six wins coming against CCC teams in nonconference matchups.

Northwest Nazarene, in the GNAC, has already gotten in four nonconference games against College of Idaho (CCC), winning 3 of the four games.

The rest of the GNAC hasn’t played any games yet but are on the schedule to start over the next few days.

For the NWC baseball hits full speed this weekend as there are 7 games scheduled to be played on Saturday.

This will leave just the NWAC left to start its baseball season which is currently scheduled to start in later this spring.
