For the first time I got to make it out to an East Region field to catch a game. It was a great experience and I hope in the next couple years I can work towards making it to every field in not only the East but all four regions.

East Region

Walla Walla vs Treasure Valley – It was a weekend of offense as both Walla Walla and Treasure Valley opened their season. The winner of each game in the series would score at least 10 runs. In the end Treasure Valley would get the series win, taking 3 out of 4 from Walla Walla and put up 42 total runs across the 4 games. Owen Viano would get 9 hits on the weekend and would score 7 runs along with collecting 7 RBIs.

Spokane vs Blue Mountain – Spokane would continue their hot start to the season as they would sweep Blue Mountain in the 4 game series. McKabe Cottrell and Cameron Liss would set the tone on the mound as both would go 6 innings in each of their starts not allowing an earned run and striking out 10. Offensively Brock Brozett would collect 8 hits driving in 7 RBIs.Jace Phelan would also add 8 hits including a home run on the weekend.

Yakima vs Big Bend – 3-1 Yakima would open the season against Big Bend and I was able to make it for the Thursday part of the double header. The Yaks would be able to take advantage of key moments on the weekend to take 3 out of 4 games and win the series. Danniel Blanchard would have a solid outing for the Yaks going 5 innings and not allowing a run in his start. Skyler Sadora would come up big for Big Bend in their win on Sunday going 2-2 with a home run, scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 RBIs.

Columbia Basin vs Wenatchee Valley – Kicking off their season, Columbia Basin and Wenatchee Valley would both look to get things going in the right direction. It would be Columbia Basin who would take the series winning 3 out of 4 games. In their three wins Columbia Basin would get three strong outings from their starting pitchers. Kirby Robertson would go 6 innings not allowing a run, Jase Wessels would go 6.1 innings not allowing an earned run and Landon Webb would go 6 innings only allowing one earned run.

West Region

Tacoma vs Green River – In Saturday double header Tacoma would come out firing on all cylinders and would outscore the Green River 39-1. Hunter Jenkins (Tac) would go 2-4, with 3 BBs, score 3 runs. On the mound for Tacoma Kyle Dunning, Jacob Selander, Sam Lauderdale, and Levi Kuchi would combine for 18 Ks, 3 BBs, and 1 ER in the sweep.

Lower Columbia vs Centralia – Lower Columbia would sweep the Saturday double header up in Centralia. (Could not find stats on this matchup).

Pierce vs Grays Harbor – Pierce would travel to Grays Harbor and would be able to walk away with a split of the double header. Parker Goin (Pierce) would have a great outing going 7 innings allowing only 1 hit and no runs, earning the win. Luke Stutesman would earn Grays Harbor’s win going 5 innings, striking out 8, and allowing 3 runs (0 earned).

Centralia vs Green River – On Sunday Centralia would go on the road to take on Green River and would sweep the double header. Trent Jackson would drive in 4 RBIs helping the offense. Winning pitcher for Centralia were Noah Bryerton (5 IP, 3 hits, 1 ER) and Matthew Obst (5IP, 2 hits, 0 ER).

Riley Paulino (Pierce) would pitch a complete game (7 IP) only giving up 3 hits and shutting out LCC. Drew Steelhammer would go 3-5 scoring 3 runs in LCC’s victory.

Tacoma vs Grays Harbor – In another Sunday double header that was split Tacoma and Grays Harbor would match up in a great pitchers duel. Seti Manase (Grays) would go 6 innings only allowing 2 hits and 1 ER to earn the win, while Tyler Garcia (Tacoma) would nearly match him going 7 IP and allowing only 2 ERs.
