I am excited to be able to do the weekend recaps again but simply due to the large number of games played this weekend, due to all of the out of conference matchups, I just didn’t have time to look up individual stats like I normally do and prefer to do. Hoping to get back to doing the usual recaps as conference play kicks in.

NWC

Puget Sound – The season would start off a little rough for the Loggers as they would fall in their opener against California Lutheran University but would come on strong on day two taking two games from Whittier College.

George Fox – The Bruins would open the season with a two game split against the  Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, but would finish the opening weekend on a high note defeating Pomona-Pitzer.

Whitworth – Whitworth would start the season on the right foot defeating Whittier to open things off but would not be able to overcome California Lutheran in a three game series.

Willamette – Opening the season in Louisiana, the Bearcats would take their first two games of the year beating East Texas Baptist University and Contenary College. However, both teams would get their revenge as Willamette would fall to each team on day two of the season.

Pacific Lutheran – The Lutes would come out strong to open the season scoring 21 runs in their two game sweep of Texas Lutheran University.

Pacific – Coming off of their NWC championship last year, the Boxers would keep up their winning ways taking 2 of 3 from Occidental College.

NWC and CCC

Linfield and Eastern Oregon – In this matchup of NAIA vs NCAA D3 it would be Eastern Oregon that would strike first getting their first win of the season but it would be Linfield that would take the series after winning the final two games in the preseason matchup.

Whitman vs LC State – In another matchup of cross level matchups being played in the NW, LC State would host Whitman for a two game series but would not be polite hosts as they would score 24 runs and take both games in the matchup.

CCC

LC State – Traveling down to take on Arizona Christian, LC State would split the road trip before they returned home to host Whitman.

Oregon Tech – Opening their season against William Jessup, Oregon Tech would take 3 out of 4 games to start their season going in the right direction.

Corban – The Warriors would take on Menlo in a four game series and would come out on top winning two games, losing one and having one tie.

Bushnell – Traveling down to Redding, CA to not only open their season but to complete the return of the baseball program at Bushnell, things would get off to a rough start as Simpson would sweep the four game series. Even though I know the coaches and players at Bushnell want wins, it is still awesome to see another program come to life in the NW.

British Columbia – Opening their season with a win against Park Gilbert in 12 innings would get the season started off right but UBC would then go up against a solid Arizona Christian squad and would drop both ends of a double header.

CCC and GNAC

Central Washington vs College of Idaho – In a back and forth matchup between NAIA vs D2, both teams would end the weekend with 2 wins on a high scoring weekend.

GNAC

Western Oregon – Opening up their season on Thursday night, WOU would take the season opener 13-5 against Fresno Pacific. They would follow that up with a double header split on Friday but would fall in the final game of the 4 game series on Saturday. Starting their season off at 2-2.

St Martin’s – St Martin’s would have a rough start to the as they would fall all four games of their season opening matchup with Chico State.

Northwest Nazarene – Getting things going to start the season Northwest Nazarent would win their opener and add another win on day two with a double header split with Azusa Pacific.

Montana State Billings – Although falling in their season opener against Cal State LA, MSUB would come back to split the 4 game series which included a 19 run game to finish the series.
