Key Returning Position Players

  • Ben Steck (C) – Plus defense and physical tools. Has a chance to be best defensive catcher in the league
  • Jordan Justice (LF) – Extreme raw power. Middle of the order bat who will hit for lots of extra bases
  • Dylan Matsuoka (RF/RHP) – Two way player who will be middle of the order bat as well. Up to 89 on the mound and plus athlete in the outfield
  • Cameron Green (CF) – Plus defensive CF. Can really run down balls in the outfield. Offensive approach is improving and will hit in the middle of the order as well

Key Returning Pitchers

  • Kenji Miller (LHP) – 3 Pitches for strikes at all times. Everything moves and keeps hitters off balance with down in zone attack
  • Julian Chabot (RHP) – 3 Pitches for strikes against both RHH/LHH. FB up to 89, CB has lots of depth and Split Change is swing and miss pitch
  • Joe McBride (RHP) – Bulldog Competitor. Will be used in leverage situations

Impact Freshman/Transfers

  • Sheehan O’Connor – Great leader and competitor. Plays great defense and will be a force at the plate and on the bases
  • Nathaniel De La Cruz (3B) – Tall, Projectable left side infielder. Defense is plus tool and power is beginning to develop at the plate. Has good zone awareness
  • Eli Holbert – Big body Freshman whos FB is up to 92. Will be back end pitcher
  • Zach Ediger – Versatile Pitcher who can fit a variety of roles. 3/4 Arm slot creates heavy sink/run on FB and SL has heavy sweeping action
  • Xavier Ulrich (C) – Transfer from UC – San Bernardino. Electric release on throws to 2B and offensive output has improved significantly over the fall 

What things did you see from the team in the fall?

Saw continued offensive improvement throughout the fall. Our pitchers were very competitive in the strikezone and we played great defense behind them

What was the focus during the fall for the team?

Simplifying the game. We really focused on doing the little things right and understanding what we need to do to be successful

What are the expectations and goals for the team entering the season?

The expectations for the season are to win the North Region and be playing on the last day of the season in Longview for a NWAC Championship
