Who are some key returning position players and what do you hope to see from them this year?
Casen Taggart (1B/C) Jaden Fulsher (OF) River Terry (3B) Ben Comes (1B/DH) and James Nelson (2B)
We are looking for them to provide leadership and guidance to our new players this year and set the standard we want as a program.
Who are your key returning pitchers and why?
Nick Geertsen, Ryan Henrickson, and Soshi Tanaka
All 3 players will be looked at to throw major innings this year. Nick and Ryan are in their third year at Centralia College and understand what it takes to win at this level. Soshi is a talented sophomore with tremendous upside on the mound.
Do you have an incoming impact freshman or transfers that will help the team in 2023?
Zaia Acklus (OF)- transfer from Linn Benton
Reid Sturn (OF/RHP)- transfer from Linfield University
Braize Mitchell (C)- Freshman from Amarillo, TX
Nic Ely (SS/RHP)- Freshman from Salt Lake City, UT
Remington O’Keefe (C/RHP)- Freshman from Emerald Ridge HS in WA
Justin Morgan (RHP)- Freshman from Taylorsville, UT
What was the focus and what things did you see from the team in the fall?
Our main focus this fall was establishing a new culture in the program with only 11 returning players. A culture of “team over everything else” and attacking the small details that win baseball games. We saw a group of guys come together and work as a group towards the one common goal. When one person succeeds, we all succeed.
What are the expectations and goals for the team entering the season?
Our goal is to be competitive in every game we play and to make the playoffs.
