Each year Olympic College knows it will go up against multiple championship contenders in the NWAC North Region. The challenges each year are tough but for the Rangers they have the chance to lay the ground work in 2021 to being a contender. A key for the Rangers to compete and win in the North will revolve around new additions to the team and the overall depth of their lineup.

Key Returning Position Players
Tyler Black – OF/1B – Black has the versatility to play all 3 outfield spots as well as 1B. He is a big, physical athlete at 6’3” 205lbs, and runs well with a plus arm. He will slot into the middle of the order. In 2020 he led Olympic in hitting as a freshman (8-19, 4 RBI, 4 SB in 6 games).
Kade Kupihea – SS – Kupihea is a 3rd year player who brings maturity and leadership. He is a high motor guy who sets the tone for Olympic in the leadoff spot with the ability to steal bases.
Key Returning Pitchers
Max Patterson – RHP – Patterson is one of the few returners for Olympic on the mound and will be looked at to lead the way. His velocity has increased over the offseason and sits at 83-85 with his fastball and has developed his secondary stuff to where he now commands 3 pitches.
Koju Sasaki – LHP – Sasaki will likely be Olympic’s closer this year. His fastball sits around 81-83 but has a +slider and + change that are swing and miss pitches.

2021 Expectations
“We have a lot of depth everywhere, so if we keep guys healthy we feel we can be at the top of the North Region. Our guys have done a good job of laying low off the field so far and staying healthy and that is something we will continue to preach in order to keep everyone healthy so we can get through the season without any hiccups.” Head Coach Ryan Parker
