1. What are some areas of your game that you have been focusing on lately to improve upon?
Recently I’ve been working with Kevin Gunderson on staying in my back leg while on my way down the mound to maximize explosiveness.
2. What are some goals and dreams you hope to reach in the next couple of years?
Currently I’m committed to play next year at Lower Columbia Community College. I hope to develop while at LCC and get an offer from a D1 school that believes in my ability to throw at the next level and thinks that I would fit into their program.
3. How long have you been playing baseball and what got you started in the game?
Like most kids, I’ve been playing baseball for as long as I can remember. My dad was my coach growing up so there’s been a lot of late nights at the field getting reps in throughout my childhood.
4. What are some of your favorite things about the game of baseball?
My favorite thing about baseball is the brotherhood that comes with it. The people that I’ve met throughout my years of playing Summer Baseball are most of my best friends. Being able to meet and hangout with kids from different areas has been more than fun and I’m sad to see it end after this summer.
5. Who in your life has helped push you to be your best on the field?
I’ve had a lot of people in my corner through out the years but the person who pushes me the most is my dad. Him and my mom have been my biggest support system my whole life and have never let me give up on the game that I love, and I thank them for that. Without them I don’t know where I’d be.
6. If there is anything else about baseball you want to include.
I want include Kevin Gunderson, Rhett Parker, Brandon Walker, Greg Peavey, and the guys at New Athlete for their continued support and belief in me.- Kevin : Thank you for taking time out of your weekends and weekdays to help me better develop into the player that we both know that I can be. – Rhett : I can’t thank you enough for your continued guidance and help in the recruiting process. You’ve taught me a lot about the game, and even more about life. – Brandon : B-DUB!! Thank you for having the confidence in the young freshman to go out there and get the job done for our high school team 3 years ago. You’ve been nothing but supportive since day 1 and I love you for it. – New Athlete : I want to thank you guys for helping me get my body right during the off season. Tyler, you’ve always pushed my body to the limit and helped me realize that there’s always more in the tank, you just have to dig deep.
Go Red Devils!!
