1. Who was the season MVP?
Will Riley – Will stepped into a leadership role and was an outstanding teammate throughout the season. He played multiple positions until winning the shortstop job the second half of the season. He lead our team in most offensive categories and was an amazing leadoff hitter.
2. Who was your team Cy Young?
Blake Tritch – He did a solid job in the rotation and out of the pen for us this spring. He commanded the zone and changed speeds which creates a lot of success.
3. Any freshman or sophomores that stepped up to contribute this year.
Ethan Babcock-Barrie FR stepped up for us behind the plate. He did an outstanding job working with our pitching staff and provided some much needed offensive production. Sophomore Hayden Foltz really came on the second half of the season showing power production along with stellar outfield defense.
4. Juniors and/or seniors who stepped into leadership roles and had an impact on the team.
Daniel Cipriano was our go to leader and stud. He led the team in home runs and performed for us in the clutch. He continue to drive in runs in the middle of the order like he did throughout his entire career. Justin Lutz also had a positive impact on our team as an OF/C, he will be returning for his senior season in the fall.
5. What were some key moments in the season for you and the team?
Daniel Cipriano setting the schools career home run mark was an individual highlight.
6. Your biggest take away from the 2021 season.
The GNAC is an outstanding conference where anyone can beat you on any given day. It was a great learning experience for our young pitchers. I loved the way our offense continued to produce and give us a chance to compete.
7. The outlook for the 2022 season.
We are optimistic about the future for our Jackets teams. We are excited about the recruiting class we have coming in and return a lot of talented guys that got valuable experience this past year.
