Great Northwest Athletic Conference
Montana St Billings vs St Martins – In the only GNAC matchup of the weekend Montana State Billings would travel to Lacey, WA and take 3 out of 4 from St. Martins. Blake Tritch (MSB) would have a great outing pitching a complete game (8 innings) only allowing 1 earned run and getting the victory.
Cascade Collegiate Conference
College of Idaho vs LC State – In another big offensive weekend for LC State, they would sweep the 4 game series over College of Idaho, scoring at least 11 runs in each of the four games. Brock Ephan would collect 9 hits on the weekend, four of which were home runs, and would drive in 11 runs.
Oregon Tech vs Eastern Oregon – Oregon Tech would travel to LaGrand, OR to take on Eastern Oregon in a four game series and would sweep the weekend. Oregon Tech starting pitchers would combine to only give up 2 earned runs in 26 innings. Trask Telesmanich (OT) would lead the way going 7 innings, striking out 8 and only allowing 3 hits.
Simpson vs Corban – In an out of conference matchup Corban would welcome Simpson for a four game series but wouldn’t be good hosts as they would sweep the weekend. Justin Tow would get at least one hit in each game, 6 total for the weekend, scoring 3 times and driving in 5 runs.
Northwest Conference
Puget Sound vs Lewis and Clark – Puget Sound would travel to face Lewis and Clark and would have a big weekend, sweeping the four game series. Jesse Awa would have a strong weekend getting 7 hits, 2 for home runs, driving in 7 runs and scoring 7 runs himself.
Willamette vs Linfield – Facing off for a 4 game series each team would dominate a day as both teams would leave the weekend going 2-2. Layton Wagner would pitch 7 innings, striking out 7 and not giving up a walk to collect one of Willamette’s two wins. For Linfield Grant Knox would go 6 innings only allowing 2 runs to get one of Linfield’s two wins.
George Fox vs Whitman – In a big match up of two teams battling for ranking in the conference, Whitman would come out of the weekend with a series win taking 3 of 4. Julien Hernandez (Whitman) would pitch a complete game shutout, only allowing 3 hits. Chase Fetzer and Andrew Sutherland (GF) would also combine for a shutout with Fetzer going 6 innings, allowing just 4 hits and no walks. Sutherland would enter the game in relief to pitch an inning allowing no hits and no walks.
Pacific Lutheran vs Whitworth – Both Pacific Lutheran and Whitworth would enter the weekend playing solid baseball and each team would have their day in this weekend series. Saturday would go to Whitworth as they would sweep the double header, with Sunday going to Pacific Lutheran. In one of Pacific Lutheran’s wins on Sunday all 9 of their starters would get a hit with 7 of them having a multi hit game.
