Despite the weather being a little chaotic with one minute it being blue skied and feeling great to switching to downpours a lot of great baseball was able to be played. A few big milestones occurred this weekend for both programs and coaches.
University of Oregon Head Coach Mark Wasikowski would record his 100th victory as a Head Coach, in a huge weekend series for the Ducks.
Cascade Collegiate Conference
Oregon Tech vs The Master’s – Oregon Tech hosted a four game set against The Master’s but wasn’t able to pull out a win in the series. Alex Malcom (Tech) had 4 hits and 7 RBIs over the weekend.
Eastern Oregon vs College of Idaho – EOU and CofI ended the weekend splitting a four game series. EOU earned a big win for the program on Saturday earning their first win since 2006 (program restarted in 2021). Nick Jennings went 9 shutout innings to earn the win for EOU.
Corban vs LC State – In a four game set LC State was able to take a weekend sweep from Corban. Jack Johnson (LC State) collected 4 hits, including a homerun, 4 RBIs and 2 BBs throughout the series.
Northwest Conference
Pacific Lutheran vs Puget Sound – In a three game set Pacific Lutheran was able to take the weekend 2-1. Austin Gormley (PL) would collect 6 hits, 5 RBIs and 5 runs and Jordan Haworth would add 6 hits, 5 RBIs and 4 runs over the weekend.
Whitworth vs George Fox – George Fox would win 3 of 4 over the weekend against Whitworth that would include a lot of offense. George Fox would score 34 total runs over the weekend in their three victories seven different players would record three hit games.
Linfield vs Willamette – Willamette would claim a weekend sweep over Linfield in a 4 game series.Saturday featured two low run games, but the offense would kick into gear on Sunday putting up 26 runs in two games. Tyler Vandemark would would go 7-14 over the weekend, collecting 6 of those hits from the leadoff spot on Sunday.
Whitman vs Pacific (Ore) – Pacific would win the weekend 3-1 over Whitman. Jordan Hara (Pac) would give the Boxers 4 hits, including a double and a homerun, and 5 RBis over the weekend.
Great Northwest Athletic Conference
St. Martin’s vs Western Oregon – What was originally scheduled to be four games over the weekend was cut down to two. Each team would get a win with St.Martin’s taking one game 7-6 and Western Oregon winning 18-2.
UC Colorado Springs vs Montana St Billings – In a four game set played in Colorado Springs, Montana State would come close but was unable to capture a win.
