In another great weekend of baseball, every weekend with baseball is great, runs were scored in abundance all across the northwest. Each of the three conference leaders would continue in their winnings ways.
Great Northwest Athletic Conference
Montana St Billings vs St Martin’s – MSUB hosted St Martin’s for a four game set and would take advantage of the home field winning 3 of 4 in the series. MSUB’s top of the lineup, Will Riley, Carson Green, and Daniel Capriano, would combine for 18 hits, 18 runs, and 15 RBI’s. Capriano would also hit 4 bombs over the weekend including 3 in one game becoming the first MSUB player in history to do so.
Central Washington vs Northwest Nazarene – Northwest Nazarene would continue their strong play in the 2021 season winning 3 out of 4 games in the series. Ryan Deering (NN) would set the table in the leadoff spot gathering 7 hits.
Northwest Conference
Puget Sound vs Pacific (Ore.) – Pacific would come out of the weekend with a series win taking 3 of the 4 games. Ryan Krout (Pac) would have a solid weekend gathering 7 hits and 6 RBIs.
Whitman vs Whitworth – Whitman would keep control of the top spot in the NWC after winning 3 of 4 in the weekend. Dexter Aichele (Whitman) would have a solid start going 7 innings, scattering 10 hits and only allowing 2 runs.
Pacific Lutheran vs Willamette – Each team would walk away with a victory scoring at least 15 runs on Saturday and would follow that up by each winning a game on Sunday 4-3. Jordan Haworth (Pac) would collect 5 hits, including 2 home runs on his way to 8 RBI’s. Luke Werkmeister-Martin (Willamette) would have a solid weekend collecting 8 hits and driving in 6 RBI’s.
Lewis and Clark vs Linfield – Lewis and Clark would make a jump in the conference standings to 2nd place with a 4 game sweep over Linfield. Lewis and Clark would have a trio of solid starts to help them with the sweep. Dominic Monozon would go 7 innings allowing only 2 runs, Noah Ferruggia would go 6 innings giving up only 2 run, and Brett Pierson would go 7 shutout innings.
Cascade Collegiate Conference
LC State vs College of Idaho – LC State would put the pedal to the metal all weekend long as they would score 52 total runs in the 4 game sweep. The LC State offense would spread the wealth as they had 17 hitters collect at least 2 hits in the 3 games led by Riley Way with 3 multi hit games.
Eastern Oregon vs Oregon Tech – In another high scoring sweep Oregon Tech would plate 49 on their way to winning all 4 games over the weekend. Mitchel Swanson (OT) would lead the way with 9 hits, 8 runs and 7 RBIs.
