What things did you see from the team in the fall?
The guys’ chemistry and work ethic was fantastic this Fall. While we know that doesn’t always equal success on the field, we know it is a big part of it. I also loved seeing our older players step up their leadership and willingness to hold themselves and their teammates accountable. If they can keep that up, we will have a much better chance of reaching our capabilities. Finally, the competitive nature of our group as a whole has definitely improved. In order to climb the ranks in such a tough conference, you have to have guys who hate to lose, and we are getting much closer to where we need to be with that.
What was the focus during the fall for the team?
We really tried to spend more time on individual skill acquisition and improvement. That meant really honing in on the little details, especially on defense, and I was happy with the progress we made.
What are the expectations and goals for the team entering the season?
On the surface, our goal is always to finish in the Top 4 and have a chance to get to the conference tournament. However, our guiding principle is to reach our full capabilities as individuals and as a team. If we can do that, then we will have a chance to reach our goal of a Top 4 finish.
