1. Who was the season MVP?

Jaxsen Sweum

2. Who was your team Cy Young?

Dylan Bishop

3. Any freshman or sophomores that stepped up to contribute this year.

Dawson Warner- our most consistent offensive player all year, anchored the line-up in the two hole

Aidan Morrison- true frosh won our starting LF job. Hit lead-off much of the year. Good gap to gap pop, good speed, and a tremendous competitior.

David Bedell- true frosh won 3B job as the year progressed. Really toolsy with a plus arm at 3B. Good leverage and power which allowed him hit 7 HR this year.

Hunter Dryden- RHP who we used as our closer this year. Good FB and an absolute bullldog on the mound. Couldn’t ask for a better shutdown reliever

Dylan Bishop- Sophomore who emerged as our ace this year. Incredible competitor who uses a 3 pitch mix FB, CHG, SL. Tough as nails.

4. Juniors and/or seniors who stepped into leadership roles and had an impact on the team.

Jaxsen Sweum- our best offensive player. Really began to lead the team with his work ethic and discipline. Guys look up to him because of his authenticity, and work ethic. He is a tremendous spiritual leader as well. He mentors our guys through Bible Study and other avenues.

5. What were some key moments in the season for you and the team?

David Jorgensen’s 2 run HR against George Fox in extra innings. Hit a big time HR in a big situation for his first career college hit.

6. Your biggest take away from the 2021 season.

Biggest takeaway is to be grateful no matter the circumstances. A lot of people (in the NWC and at Whitworth) had to work hard and sacrifice for our season to take place this year. We were reminded what a blessing it is to be out on the field again and being around our teammates.

7. The outlook for the 2022 season.

I am extremely optimistic about 2022. Our offense took some big leaps this year in terms of scoring runs and generating power. I look forward to seeing some of our young arms in action next year.
