Who are some key returning players for the team and what do you hope to see from each of them this year?
Brett Haggerty(23), Joaquin Velez-Fucal(23), Jaylen Kennedy(25), Rudy Larson(25). Leadership is key and all 4 of these players are very good at it. They promote camaraderie and team bonding with focus, but also know how to lead in the tough situations.
Who are some key underclassmen that are moving up in the program and can make an impact? What do you hope to see from each of them this year?
Jaylen Kennedy, Rudy Larson & Jalon Fulton. Kennedy & Larson will play a huge role on this years team as they both play up the middle on the mound and catcher. Fulton comes in as a Freshman this year with high expectations and a chance to play a lot of varsity innings.
What areas will you be focusing on early in the season?
Running game! It’s what we do!
What are the expectations and goals for the team in 2023?
Being 1 game away from state last year, the goal is always being in the final 4! We return the league pitcher of the year, and multiple all league players. Combine that with the new incoming younger talent, we feel we have a State Tourney capable team. Time will tell!
