Impact of losing the 2020 season
Players were devastated that we lost the 2020 season. We had a great group of returning players and were ready to make a run towards the state tournament and the season was cancelled. Not easy on anyone because we worked so hard to prepare for the season and so many guys had great off seasons and it was taken away from us.
2021 players
Davis Buckner – LHP/1B – Committed to Seattle University. The ace on the mound, has a great swag and confidence about him. Sits around 84-86 with his fastball and can bump it up in the upper 80s at times and puts guys away with a nice curve. Also a force at the plate, hit over .300 with 3 triples and 3 home runs as a sophomore.
Drew Stultz – 1B/DH – Committed to play Football at Central Washington University. Hit .364 as a sophomore and has power to all fields who is going to be a big presence in the middle of the lineup.
Grady Kentch – RHP/3B – Kentch is a great all around player. Sits 78-82 on the bump with some good off speed. Can also really hit to all fields with a lot of power potential.
2022 Players
Gage Keene – C – Keene has worked exceptionally hard in the weight room to become a lot stronger. Solid behind the plate with some power potential at the plate.
Dylan Schwartzmiller – INF – Has gained a lot of strength over the past year and will be a dynamic lead off hitter with the rare ability of power and speed.
2023 Players
Kale Hammer – LHP/OF – Committed to Gonzaga. Has a lot of pitch ability on the mound with great command. Sits 82-84 with his fastball and uses his curve as a strike out pitch. Kid is driven and has a lot of potential.
Baylor Hill – SS – A true middle infielder with a lot of tools that include speed, quickness and arm strength. Also solid hitter at the plate who has made a lot of improvement.
Hopes for 2021
Some of the hopes we have as a team this year is to take advantage of the opportunity we have in front of us and become the best team we can be. This is a great group who is determined, focused, and passionate about becoming better ball players each day. The expectations for this season are extremely high. We won’t get the opportunity with a post season but if there was a post season, this is a team that would compete for the state title. We have four solid arms that will lead our pitching staff and numerous hitters that will be a force in our lineup. This is the most talent we’ve had on a team in over 5 years. Our goal this year is to get better everyday, work together as a team, and compete to win each game. I am very excited to see this group work, practice, and play together.
