Key 2021 Class Players
Eden Blanco of Chiawana High School is committed to Arizona Christian University as a two-way player. In his 3rd year on the Outlaws, Blanco will play SS and be a starting pitcher. Blanco has a high baseball IQ, a great feel for shortstop, and is mid-80’s on the bump. He was honorable mention all-conference selection his sophomore year and then posted a 1.25 ERA for the Washington State Legion Champion Outlaws in 2019.
Rustin Edmiston of Hermiston High School is committed to Yakima Valley College as a two-way player. In his 3rd year on the Outlaws, Edmiston will play middle infield, some outfield, and be a starting pitcher. Edmiston posted a 2.51 ERA for the 2019 Washington State Legion Champion Outlaws. Ranked the #17 player in the Oregon Class of 2021 by BBNW Edmiston is mid-80’s on the bump.
Jackson Lind of Kennewick High School is committed to Seattle University as a catcher. Now in his 3rd year on the Outlaws, Lind had caught 80 games at the senior legion level by the age of 16. Ranked #27 in the Washington Class of 2021 by BBNW Lind, a 4 year letter winner, possesses a 1.9 pop time and 91 mph tee exit velocity.
Gaven Mattson of Kennewick High School is committed to Yakima Valley College as a two-way player. In his 3rd year on the Outlaws Mattson will play both corner infield and outfield as well as be a starting pitcher. Mattson had a 1.84 ERA on the 2019 state champion team. He now possesses a mid-80’s fastball and a great feel for secondary pitches, which he mixes well.
Key 2022 Class Players
Simeon Howard of Kennewick High School was a varsity starter his freshman year in football, basketball, and baseball. His freshman year the left hander was 2nd team all-conference as an outfielder. Howard’s freshman year culminated with him winning MVP at the Senior Legion Washington State Tournament. In his last two starts on the mound (state and regionals) the southpaw pitched a combined 12 innings and allowed 2 hits and 1 unearned run. He’s the best player in the NW that most people have never heard of.
Key 2023 Class Players
Easton Corey of Pendleton High School is already 6’5” 190. In early March 2021, the right handed pitcher was up to 86 mph. In addition to pitching his lefty bat will see time at 1B and RF.
Key 2024 Class Player
Leyton Lind of Kennewick High School is the younger brother of D1 commit Jackson Lind. This 6’0” 150 pound freshman already possesses a low 80’s fastball from the right side and an advanced feel for his secondary pitches. He will see some at-bats for the Outlaws, but will mainly be looked to for some quality innings on the mound.
Hopes, expectations, and goals for 2021
After the high school season was shut down last spring, the Kennewick Outlaws were lucky enough to get 6 games in last summer before getting shut down due to Covid-19 in the Mid-Columbia area. This summer, the Outlaws look to repeat as Legion State Champs and go on looking for a World Series appearance.
